Haircare 101

  • Should I wash my hair before my color appointment?

Yes. Arrive with clean, dry hair unless I’ve given you different instructions for your service.

  • How soon can I wash my hair after coloring it?

I recommend waiting about 48 hours before your first shampoo to help preserve your color.

  • How often should I wash color-treated hair?

Usually 2–3 times per week is ideal, using professional color-safe products and cooler water.

  • What temperature should I use on my hot tools?

Keep the temperature as low as your hair allows—generally under 380°F—and always use a thermal protectant.

  • How can I make my hair color last longer?

Use professional color-safe products, avoid excessively hot water, use heat protection and keep up with recommended maintenance appointments.

  • How often should I get a haircut?

It depends on your haircut, hair health and goals. Shorter precision cuts generally need more frequent maintenance, while longer styles can usually go longer between trims.

  • What products should I use at home?

Your home-care routine should be customized to your hair. I’ll recommend products based on your color, texture, styling routine and hair goals.

  • What type of hair extensions are best for me?

That depends on your natural hair, density, lifestyle and goals. I offer several methods, including K-Tips, I-Tips, tape-ins and Combline, and we can determine the best fit during your consultation.
